Yoga Safari - A safari with a difference!

Yoga Safari offers guests the opportunity to take a traditional safari in Botswana with qualified yoga teacher, Deborah Carter, who adds a healthy twist of yoga to the experience.

How it all began: After well over 15 years of working in the safari industry in Botswana, Deborah decided she wanted to offer a slightly different type of safari to the norm; one that combined safaris with yoga; her two passions. The idea came about because she continually heard guests say that whilst they were on safari, they sat too much; getting bounced around in the 4x4 vehicles, ate too much; 5 meals a day isn't unheard of, and because of this, they wanted to get out and stretch. So, with her yoga teaching background she decided to add her two loves together - safaris and yoga - and started Yoga Safari in 2009.

Since then Deborah has run an annual Yoga Safari into the best locations in Botswana - Moremi Game Reserve, Nxai Pan and Chobe National Parks and private concession areas too. Weekend yoga retreats are also offered and can be added to the beginning or end of a traditional safari. Deborah is also available to accompany guests on their own safari as their private yoga teacher.

Yoga Safari is registered with the Botswana Department of Tourism as a travel agency and can also book regular safaris. Deborah has a wealth of knowledge about the various camps and lodges in Botswana and is able to help your plan the perfect safari for you, your family and friends. Whether you prefer a mobile safari with shared shower & toilet or an up-market mobile safari with en-suite bathroom or even a 5 star luxury camp/lodge fly-in safari, all these options are available, and Deborah can help you make the right decision for you. The safari's offered can be as short as 2 nights or as long as 14. The price of each Yoga Safari depends on the safari chosen ranging from US$450 per person per night on the lower end of the scale to over US$2,000 per person per night at the top end. Each Yoga Safari includes an qualified professional guide, game viewing activities, daily yoga, all meals and drinks.
